Hawk Jensen, dir. (8 min)  Wednesday 2:30 pm; Saturday 2:20 pm
The Witness Project is a short documentary series sponsored by the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC) that records the experiences of a number of individuals who were – and in some cases still are – victims of persecution by collectivist regimes in the 20th and 21st centuries. Anastasia Lin grew up in China but later moved with her mother to Canada as a young adult. Once she was outside the influence of the Communist Party, she realized the lies she had been taught to believe. Now, as an accomplished model, actress and winner of Miss World Canada 2015, she speaks out in hopes it will encourage other Chinese to do the same, despite continuing threats by the Chinese regime to her and her family.
Panel: Escape from Communism, Yeonmi Park, Li Schoolland, Jeff Gasser; Hawk Jensen, mod.
