M. Zachary Johnson is the co-founder of the NeoHumanist Institute, serves on the faculty of the College of Performing Arts at The New School University, and is the music program director of the Montessori-based T.E.C. Schools, “Think, Explore, Create.” He is the composer of The Boston Tea Party Opera, which premiered at the New York International Fringe Festival, and which Curtainup.com dubbed “opera with a conscience.” Johnson’s "The Can Opener: A Brief Horror Musical" premiered to sold-out audiences at the NYC Players Theater Boo! Festival and continued at the FRIGID NY Festival. His book Emotion in Life & Music debuted as Amazon's #1 hot new release in aesthetics. He has lectured frequently at colleges and universities on music, art and cultural history. He is a composer member of ASCAP.
