Matt Bevin

Governor
Kentucky

Matt Bevin was elected the 62nd Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 2015. He is a husband, father of nine children, veteran and successful small business owner.

Bevin founded several companies in Kentucky and invested in a number of others in the Commonwealth as well as in other states.

In 2011, Governor Bevin became the president of Bevin Bros., a small bell manufacturing company founded in 1832, and a family business for six generations.

In 2013, Bevin announced he would challenge Kentucky's senior U.S. Senator, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, in the 2014 Republican primary, who defeated him by almost 25 percentage points.

After announcing he would seek the governorship in 2015, Bevin emerged from a four-way Republican primary, besting his nearest competitor, Agriculture Commissioner James Comer by 83 votes. On November 3, 2015, he defeated the state's attorney general, Democrat Jack Conway, in the general election.
