Ted Balaker, an award-winning filmmaker and journalist, is co-founder of Korchula Productions, a film and new media production company devoted to making important ideas entertaining. Ted directed the feature documentary Can We Take a Joke? in which comedians such as Adam Carolla, Penn Jillette, and Gilbert Gottfried stand up for free speech and comedy. The film won the FreedomFest Grand Prize in 2016. It will be released by Samuel Goldwyn Films in select theaters on July 20 and digitally on August 2. Ted also produced Anthem's opening night film, Little Pink House, a narrative feature about Susette Kelo’s historic fight against eminent domain abuse that stars two-time Academy Award nominee Catherine Keener and Emmy nominee Jeanne Tripplehorn. The film hits theaters in 2017. Ted is co-creator of Reason TV’s Drew Carey project and began his career producing for John Stossel at ABC News. His written work has appeared in many publications including The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and USA TODAY.
